On this house, my team and I did the brickwork of the second floor and the roof.
Roof construction included:
- Mauerlat device
-installation of metal racks and power beams for skates.
-installation of rafter system
-installation of a vapor-permeable membrane, insulation, counter-lattice, sheathing, vapor barrier film,
-installation of plywood, lining, shingles - finishing of eaves with metal siding
-installation of a drainage system
The roof slopes had different angles of inclination. Glued laminated timber posts are installed under the roof above the veranda.
Snow guards are installed along the contour of the roof. Cornice and end strips are installed wherever necessary.
The work was carried out according to the architectural design. Design errors were corrected as the work progressed.
At the base of the roof are powerful metal beams on which wooden beams are installed.
The valleys are made of valley carpet, underneath there is a metal sheet and a self-adhesive film.
The same film is on the cornices. In other places there is a special synthetic lining.
The bottom of the eaves is made of metal siding.
The front part of the cornices is made of Siberian larch.
All visible wooden parts are painted with natural oil paint. All other wooden materials are impregnated with antifungal and fire retardant liquids.
The drainage system is made of plastic, fixed on metal hooks. The hooks are screwed to the bottom of the roof. Grooves were milled in the plywood for them.
In any case, roof maintenance should be carried out at least once a year. External inspection, cleaning of gutters.
Roof construction is a job that I have been doing for over 20 years.
